Sign Up: Please sign up by using the first name of your desired character as your username. Do not change your profile information until after your audition has been accepted. You have a week to audition before we delete you.
Respect: Please respect other members and the staff. We do not tolerate on-site drama and are always striving to resolve whatever problems might come up between members. If you run into a conflict or have problems with something or someone, do not involve others in it or complain openly in threads or the shoutbox. Message a staff member instead so we can solve the issue for you. And if someone tells you to quit doing something, then please listen to them.
Activity: We all think that the real life comes first. So, if you have health or other real life issues, if you are busy with school, or even if you just lack muse, then we all completely understand that. If you will be gone for more than five days, please comment in the ABSENCE thread to let us know so we can save your spot. Canons will be reopened for adoption if you haven't posted in two weeks and your account will be deleted if you haven't logged in or posted for a month - unless you have posted a major absence and we approved it. Just logging in and lurking does not count as being active, by the way.
Fandoms: You do not have to watch both shows our forum incorporates just to be part of our family. The characters of each universe don't know each other in the shows, either, so it's only natural that you and your character wouldn't know about everything and everyone.
Advertising: Although you are more than welcome to be part of other forums, as well, we do not tolerate advertising outside of the advertisement section. This includes linking other forums in threads, the shoutbox, and in private messages. We don't do it on other forums, either, and consider it to be 'member theft'.
Theft: Everything you see on The Darkness Within Us belongs to us and our members. This includes graphics, board designs, all written posts and all made up characters, while skin and layout credits can be found in the sidebar. Do not steal graphics, character or plot ideas. We will report your site if you do without warning.
C h a r a c t e r ☆ C r e a t i o n
Selection: You can audition for any fandom's canon role if they are available in the CANON LIST. Most important characters are highlighted in red, taken ones are crossed out.
OCs:We do allow original characters. They may not be related to any canon character, nor can they be invincible. We all have strengths and flaws, made ups included. At the moment, we are not allowing made ups at the moment.
Amount:Every member can play up to three characters. Your first one can be a canon or a made up. You can apply for a second when you reached 25 posts with the first, and if your first was a made up, your second one has to be a canon role. Create the second and third by registering a new account on our forum and apply for them just like you did with the first. Note: you can get a third role when the posts on both roles combined reach 100
Account: You may only change your information to your character's once your audition has been accepted.
Profiles: Besides the account profile, we also have CHARACTER PROFILES. You must create one before starting to roleplay, since they are a good way for others to learn more about your character, or to leave OOC posts and texts or phone calls for you.
R o l e p l a y ☆ C o n t e n t
Basics: Roleplays are held in threads. Anyone can start, and join any thread at any given time. Even if you haven't been tagged in a thread and just want to randomly show up in it, it's fine as long as your post will make sense in the thread. The latter will cause more drama and surprise anyways. Our minimum word count on here is 200 per post, so please be descriptive and detailed to make posts interesting. All posts are written in past tense and third person, with the exception of direct speech, of course.
Our Plot: Our plot follows the main events of both shows. Most of our plot twists are made up ones, so that we can easily involve more members and connect both fandoms in one exciting plot.
PG-13: Yes, Proboards is PG-13. We do not allow sexual or other violent or graphic content on our forum. You may hint towards sexual acts, flirt with characters, and also have fight scenarios, but anything too graphic will get deleted immediately and we will place a warning on your account, which can result in a ban if the rules are broken again. And yes, messages also count as part of the forum, so please do not proceed with Rated R content in private messages.
God-Moding: God Moding can mean two things, and we don't tolerate either. We do not allow for you to God Mod other characters, unless they are just being God moded to be part of a normal conversation or action. For example, Allison may God Mode her father being home and saying a few words for as long as we do not have a Chris Argent on here. God Moding can also mean that your character has no limits. If someone hurts you or even kills you, you will have to go along with it. That doesn't mean that you can't fight back, but be realistic about it.
